Summertime
is here,
and if you have young children, thoughts are turning to vacations,
sports activities, and time at the beach. For most children, this
is the most exciting time of the year, one in which they can laugh,
sing, and play. As thoughts turn to Fall activities, we would like
to introduce your children to a place where they can enjoy these
summertime experiences all year long. Musical Foundations is a community
education program that introduces children to the wonderful world
of music in three unique ways. If you desire your children to experience
the world of music in an open and engaging atmosphere that prepares
them for a lifetime of musical enjoyment, we invite you to continue
reading to learn more about the programs we have to offer.

For
more than 25 years, Kindermusik ® has helped over
a million children and their families discover how music
can enrich their lives and lay the foundation for a
lifetime love of learning. Babies as young as three
months smile and babble as their parents rock and sway
with them to the beat of the music. Toddlers light up
as they guess the animals they hear on a recording and
then proudly do their own imitations. And pre-schoolers
giggle with delight as they flap their arms, pretending
to be birds. From birth to seven years of age, children
can grow with Kindermusik without the pressure to perform,
just the encouragement to explore, express, and discover.
Research
proves that early integration of music into your child’s
daily routine means improving his ability to think,
reason, create, and express. As trained and licensed
educators, we will provide carefully researched, developmentally
appropriate music and movement programs for children,
both in class and at home.
Three
levels of education are available from Musical Foundations
for your children to laugh, learn, and grow in music.

Music
for Young Children ® (MYC) is a program that provides
a solid foundation of understanding and enjoyment of
music. Singing together creates a special bond. Keyboard
playing and rhythm ensembles nurture team skills. Creative
movement develops individual expressiveness. Music reading
and theory are reinforced with group activities and
with colorful, hands-on materials. Composing integrates
aural and written skills and gives children a sense
of ownership.
In
MYC, children meet in small groups, in their own age
category, once a week for an hour, accompanied by an
adult (parent, grandparent or caregiver) who participates
in the program.
All
MYC programs cover material designed for the development
learning abilities appropriate to the age of the children
in the program. The curriculum for each level is carefully
geared and paced to the abilities and learning styles
for that particular age.
As
a performance-based program, your children will develop
specific skills that will prepare them for a lifetime
of music; ready to learn, play, and perform well into
their teens and beyond.
